NHS Treatments & Charges
Everybody is entitled to receive NHS dental treatment, in order to treat dental disease and improve their quality of life.
What is needed in order to register with an NHS dentist?
All of the details required are noted on your medical card, which you should bring with you to your first appointment.
NHS treatment is free of charge for the following people:
- Under 18 Years Of Age
- Those Aged 18-19 Years And In Full Time Education
- Expectant And Nursing Mothers
- Those Receiving Income Support, Working Families Tax
- Credit, Pension Credit (Guaranteed) Or Income Based
- Job Seekers Allowance.
In some cases, patients may be entitled to a complete, or partial, exemption from charges.

A dental visit can be a stressful event for many people. We understand this and so have several options available in order to accommodate:
- Treatment In A calm and relaxing Environment with friendly, helpful,
- caring staff
- Relative Analgesia (Twilight Sleep). This is more commonly know as “laughing gas” and can be a great aid to relieving anxiety.
We recognize that it can be very difficult to attend dental appointments for various reasons, such as sickness or with elderly patients. Due to this, we are happy to make special arrangements to come out to your home for a check up or treatment as required.
There is no extra charge for this service with the National Health Service.
If you are suffering from pain during the normal surgery hours, please telephone us as soon as possible in the morning – we will do our best to accommodate you with an appointment.
If you find yourself in pain outside the normal working hours, we operate an out of hours service. Please be aware this service is strictly reserved for:
- extreme pain
- facial swelling
- spreading infection
- uncontrollable bleeding
